The philosophy of the restaurant is a combination of seemingly incompatible things — the intertwining cultures of the West and the East. It manifests itself, among other things, in the contrast of textures: the rough plaster of the walls refers to oriental architecture, and the snow-white shutters on the large windows, filling the spacious room with textured sunlight, transfer to the atmosphere of relaxation in an Italian villa.

After ten years of successful history, AVGUST 13 VOSTOK restaurant has entered a new era — with an updated philosophy, an expanded gastronomic list and a completely new interior. Now it’s a place in Moscow where such different cultures of East and West meet.

My new project at mid-century modern is just a combination of relevant design ideas, conciseness and functionality, as well as, most interestingly, adding vintage, antique or artificially aged pieces of furniture and decor to this cocktail.
