About the project

This 22 m² neo-pop art studio apartment is a space that perfectly reflects the lifestyle of a young journalist.

The main goal is to create a functional and stylish space, despite the limited meters.

A basic warm white color (Scandinavian white 90/10) has been chosen to visually expand the walls and increase the ceilings.

The surfaces of the walls and floor are finished with mechanical plaster and screed, which not only saved the budget, but also added an interesting texture to the interior.

Bright fuchsia accents and other elements of pop art, such as unusual paintings and art objects, become the center of attention in every area of the apartment.

Hallway
There are two bright accents here — the Invisible doors, painted in the color of the ceiling stripe, which creates harmony with the main decor.

An unusual element is the head of a girl in a wig, which is actually a scratching post. This element adds irony and lightness to the space. Also in the hallway, attention is drawn to a zebra pouf and a painting with bananas, which add dynamics and an atmosphere of pop art.

Bathroom

Despite its compact size, the bathroom is thought out to the smallest detail. Built-in storage systems provide functionality, and a striped shower room with a manual pattern selection creates a dynamic atmosphere, adding a touch of pop art.

Kitchen

The kitchen is designed in a minimalist style using the same material for the countertop, apron and window sills, which visually expands the space. Bright accents, such as a yellow cup and bright yellow tulips in a vase, add freshness and energy. The striped vase echoes the striped gaiters in the painting, adding dynamics and harmony to the space. Yellow shades flow from the kitchen into the hallway, reflected in the picture with bananas, and fuchsia and yellow tones create a contrast with the purple and blue shades of the bedroom area.

The living area

The sofa area, which unfolds, turns into a sleeping place. Textiles on the windows add to the coziness and comfort. The color of the sofa and the bed in the bedroom are the same, which creates harmony and integrity of the space. Despite the low ceilings, the use of high ceiling skirting boards visually increases the space. A vivid painting between the living room and the dining area connects colors and prints throughout the interior.

Bedroom area

A bedroom is not just a place to sleep, but also a relaxation and privacy area. There is a meditative atmosphere here, thanks to the blue and purple hues that contrast with the bright accents in other parts of the apartment. The bedroom has two lamps, directed in different ways, and the large and cozy headboard is made on hooks and is removable, which adds functionality. Special attention should be paid to the busts in neon berry shades, which are located on the wall. These are not just decorative elements — these busts, like little Mayakovsky busts, become a source of inspiration for the landlady of the apartment, helping her in her creative work and writing. In the process of moving, only two of the seven Mayakovskys remained — as in the old story about ten little Negroes, but each of them is important in its own way and supports the creative process.
